Why it matters to buyers: Detector age is the #1 value driver on Selenia Dimensions. 5–9 year useful life; pre-2009 panels: ~3 years.

Why it matters to engineers: Ghosting, dead pixel clusters = end-of-life. Replacement is the largest service event short of full chassis swap.
