Shares the LSO PET detector architecture with Biograph 16 and Biograph 64, paired with a 40-slice CT derived from the SOMATOM Sensation 40 platform — the CT side brings z-Sharp flying focal spot and the STRATON tube into the PET/CT integrated system. Biograph 40 is less common than Biograph 16 (cost-down entry) and Biograph 64 (premium flagship of its era) but appears meaningfully in the secondary market.
