Mid-range PET/CT in Siemens' pre-mCT Biograph family. Biograph 16 pairs a 16-slice CT (shared lineage with SOMATOM Sensation / Emotion-class CT chassis of the era) with the Biograph's LSO-crystal PET detector system. Commonly deployed across community oncology and mid-volume hospital nuclear-medicine / PET departments through the late 2000s and early 2010s. The TrueV option extends the axial PET FOV from 162 mm to 216 mm, adding 48 crystal blocks and materially improving sensitivity.
