Siemens Biograph Vision
Manufacturer: Siemens Healthineers · Modality: PET/CT
Digital PET/CT successor to the Biograph mCT. SiPM detectors, ~214 ps Time-of-Flight timing — the narrowest commercially available in clinical PET at launch — 3.2 × 3.2 × 20 mm crystal pitch, 26 cm axial FOV.
What sets Vision apart
- ~214 ps ToF timing — industry-leading at launch. Meaningfully tighter localization than competitors (Discovery MI ~375 ps, Vereos ~320 ps).
- 3.2 mm crystal pixel — finer than any competitor clinical PET. Better small-lesion detection.
- 26 cm axial FOV — faster whole-body; competitive with GE Discovery MI 25 cm configurations.
- CT side — SOMATOM-lineage integration; multiple CT variants (64-slice up).
Clinical positioning
Top-end PET/CT. Used in academic centers, cancer centers, and high-volume oncology practices where small-lesion conspicuity + fast throughput + low-dose protocols matter.
Specs
- LSO crystals · 3.2 × 3.2 × 20 mm
- SiPM readout with TrueX technology
- ToF ~214 ps
- 26 cm axial FOV
- CT side — Siemens SOMATOM integration (varies)

Service reality
Current OEM production; service contracts dominate. Parts ecosystem limited on refurb side — not many used Visions on the market yet.
Successor
Biograph Vision.X (2023–present) extends the Vision architecture with ~178 ps ToF timing (vs Vision's ~214 ps) on the same 3.2 mm crystal geometry. Vision and Vision.X coexist in OEM production; Vision.X is the top-tier oncology / theranostic platform.
