Philips' parallel-pixel ultrasound beamformer architecture on the EPIQ premium platform. Replaces the legacy line-by-line scan-converter beamformer with a design that processes every pixel on every frame in parallel. Delivers uniform resolution across the full field of view rather than the off-axis roll-off characteristic of earlier beamformers, and enables higher frame rates at matched line density.
Why it matters to buyers: nSIGHT is the architectural differentiator of the EPIQ class (Elite, CVx) vs the iU22 / iE33 class of Philips premium ultrasound. Uniform edge-to-edge resolution matters clinically on wide-field abdominal, vascular, and breast imaging where off-axis image quality historically suffered.
Why it matters to engineers: nSIGHT is a beamformer-hardware-plus-software change. An EPIQ-class cart's beamformer boards are not interchangeable with iU22-class hardware; the architecture step is a platform replacement rather than a software upgrade.
