GE LOGIQ 9
Family: GE LOGIQ (legacy) · Modality: Ultrasound
Flagship GE radiology ultrasound of the mid-2000s and early 2010s. Positioned above LOGIQ 7 on imaging-chain capability and display — LOGIQ 9 was GE's top-tier premium general-imaging cart before the LOGIQ E9 succeeded it. Shipped with either 15" CRT or 19" LCD monitor configurations, the TruScan raw-data architecture, and broader speckle-reduction / compound-imaging capability than LOGIQ 7. Large global install base; steady secondary-market platform into the present decade.
Platform highlights
- 4 active probe ports.
- 15" CRT or 19" LCD monitor — configuration-dependent. Early-production units shipped CRT; late production shifted to LCD.
- TruScan architecture — GE's raw-data processing framework combining TruAccess (raw data storage), Comfort Scan (patient-friendly exam setup), and Smart Scan (automated optimization).
- Max 36 cm scan depth — deeper imaging than LOGIQ 7 for bariatric abdominal and deep structures.
- CrossXBeam spatial compounding — real-time multi-angle spatial compound imaging; GE's counterpart to Philips SonoCT.
- SRI (Speckle Reduction Imaging) — adaptive speckle-reduction reconstruction; carried forward into LOGIQ E9 / E10.
- Tissue Harmonic Imaging (THI) — standard harmonic imaging for technically difficult patients.
- 3D capabilities — mechanical 3D/4D probe support.
- Tissue Velocity Imaging (TVI) + Tissue Velocity Doppler (TVD) — cardiac quantification.
- Coded Excitation — improves signal-to-noise at depth through matched-filter transmit / receive.
Transducer portfolio
- Linear: M12L, 7L, 9L, 10L, 12L
- Sector (cardiac): M3S, 3S, 4S, 7S, 10S
- Curved, endocavity, volumetric, TEE (configuration-dependent)

Clinical positioning
- Premium radiology ultrasound — abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, small parts, MSK at high-volume hospital and imaging-center sites.
- Shared-service flagship — radiology + cardiology + vascular on one premium cart.
- Cardiac — LOGIQ 9 handles adult echo via sector probes; GE Vivid family was the cardiology-dedicated platform at the same tier.
- Vascular — premium vascular with CrossXBeam and THI.
- Breast / thyroid / small parts — high-frequency linear probes with SRI.
- Outpatient imaging centers at the upper capital tier.
Market position (secondary / refurb)
- Large global install base. LOGIQ 9 remains one of the more-traded GE premium radiology ultrasound platforms in the secondary market.
- Upper-tier refurb capital — positioned above LOGIQ 7 on capital; well below the current-generation LOGIQ E10.
- Service ecosystem — GE OEM service; broad multi-vendor service coverage.
- Probe aftermarket — the LOGIQ transducer family (M12L, 7L, M3S, etc.) has deep refurb channels.
- Successor pathway — LOGIQ E9 direct successor; LOGIQ E10 current flagship.
Relationship to siblings
- LOGIQ 7 — tier-below sibling in the same era.
- LOGIQ E9 — successor-class.
- LOGIQ E10 — current flagship.
