TrueV

Siemens' extended-axial-FOV PET detector option on Biograph TruePoint-era platforms (Biograph 16 / 40 / 64). TrueV adds 48 detector blocks to the base Biograph PET ring, extending the axial field of view from 162 mm to 216 mm. The additional detector volume materially increases sensitivity and reduces the number of bed positions required for a whole-body scan.

Why it matters to buyers: TrueV is a capability option on Biograph 16 / 40 / 64 — the difference between a TrueV-equipped Biograph and a base-configuration unit is clinically and commercially meaningful. Higher sensitivity supports faster scans or lower injected-activity protocols. Acceptance testing always needs to confirm whether a pre-owned Biograph is TrueV-equipped.

Why it matters to engineers: TrueV adds axial detector blocks; service covers the expanded ring. NECR peak rises from ~96 kcps to ~165 kcps and sensitivity rises from 4.2 cps/kBq to 7.6 cps/kBq with TrueV per OEM specifications.
