Mid-life refresh of the iU22 — adds xMATRIX matrix-array transducers enabling live 3D (4D) imaging from a single transducer. xMATRIX probe electronics beam-form at the transducer level, freeing beamforming resources in the cart. Served as Philips' premium general-imaging US until the EPIQ line replaced it.

- Live 3D B-mode from single probe (no mechanical 4D transducer sweep)
- Shares most cart hardware with original iU22
- Upgrade path from original iU22 is firmware + probes in some cases
