Philips DigitalDiagnost C90

Manufacturer: Philips · Modality: Digital Radiography

Current-generation Philips premium digital radiography room. Ceiling-suspended tube with Eleva head (integrated touchscreen and live camera), height-adjustable imaging table, motorized wall stand, and SkyPlate wireless detectors. Positioned as Philips' top general-radiography installation for high-throughput hospital and imaging-center departments. Also marketed under the Radiography 7000 C global product name.

Platform architecture

  • Ceiling-suspended tube column with Eleva head — the tube column carries a touchscreen operator interface at the tube head, along with a live video camera that assists collimation and positioning. Philips OEM claims the live camera + Eleva head shortens exam time by ~28 seconds per examination by reducing the back-and-forth between technologist and patient.
  • Eleva workflow — the software layer shared across Philips X-ray modalities. Customizable presets, DICOM Modality Worklist integration, radiation dose tracking, auto-positioning presets, and patient-focused workflow automation.
  • SkyPlate wireless detectors — portable cesium iodide (CsI) amorphous-silicon flat-panel detectors; 35 × 43 cm (14 × 17″) active size, 2330 × 2846 pixel matrix, 148 µm pixel pitch. The SkyPlate is common across the Philips DR portfolio (DigitalDiagnost, MobileDiagnost).
  • Wall stand with integrated 17 × 17″ fixed detector — handles chest / upright work; supports stitched long-bone and long-spine acquisitions.
  • Height-adjustable imaging table — accommodates standing-assist, stretcher-transfer, and bariatric patient populations. Table tray accepts the wireless SkyPlate.

Detector (SkyPlate E Large)

  • 35 × 43 cm (14 × 17″) portable wireless
  • 34.48 × 42.12 cm active area
  • 2330 × 2846 pixel matrix
  • 148 µm pixel pitch
  • CsI scintillator, amorphous-silicon TFT readout
  • Tether-free wireless operation across the DigitalDiagnost / MobileDiagnost platforms

Specs

  • Ceiling-suspended tube column with Eleva tube head
  • Integrated Eleva head touchscreen + live video camera
  • Wall stand with fixed 17 × 17″ detector
  • Height-adjustable imaging table with SkyPlate tray
  • SkyPlate CsI wireless detectors (14 × 17″ standard)

Clinical positioning

  • High-volume general radiography — chest, abdomen, MSK, pediatrics, trauma.
  • Emergency department — the ceiling-suspended tube + wall stand + wireless detector workflow handles ER throughput with minimal patient positioning changes.
  • Inpatient radiography rooms — shares the SkyPlate detector ecosystem with portable MobileDiagnost units, letting the same detectors flow between rooms and portables.
  • Bariatric and mobility-limited patients — height-adjustable table and stretcher-transfer workflow.

Relationship to siblings

  • EasyDiagnost — R/F (radiography + fluoroscopy) system. Different modality class; not a DR replacement.
  • MobileDiagnost wireless portable DR family — shares the SkyPlate detector ecosystem.
  • Legacy CR / CR-replacement — DigitalDiagnost is the platform facilities transition to when retiring CR-based general radiography.
