Volume Shuttle
GE's table-shuttle acquisition mode that covers volumes larger than the detector z-coverage in a single breath-hold by oscillating the table back and forth. Particularly relevant for dynamic / perfusion imaging where temporal sampling matters more than single-pass throughput.
Why it matters to buyers: Part of the LightSpeed VCT XT premium tier. Enables functional imaging (perfusion) without rapid-table-pitch compromises. Largely superseded by wide-detector platforms (Revolution CT, Aquilion ONE) on current-generation chassis.
Why it matters to engineers: Licensed option. A VCT XT without Volume Shuttle is a base XT — confirm in writing on refurb deals.
