ASiR

GE's first-generation iterative reconstruction algorithm. Reduces image noise, enabling lower-dose scans at equivalent image quality. Superseded by ASiR-V (model-based) and TrueFidelity / DLIR (deep-learning) on current chassis.

Why it matters to buyers: ASiR license is a major value driver on refurbished GE CT — a VCT with ASiR is meaningfully more capable than one without. License-tier check is part of refurb due diligence.

Why it matters to engineers: Licensed separately from hardware. VCT XT ships with ASiR; base / Select variants may or may not have it.
