AIDR 3D
Canon Medical (legacy Toshiba) Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction 3D — the first-generation iterative reconstruction available across the Aquilion CT product line. Reduces image noise while preserving spatial resolution, enabling dose reductions of up to ~75% at matched image quality vs conventional filtered back-projection, depending on protocol and baseline. Shipped standard on Aquilion CXL and as an optional license on earlier Aquilion platforms.
Why it matters to buyers: AIDR 3D licensing status is the single most commercially consequential acceptance-test item on a pre-owned Aquilion CT. An AIDR-3D-licensed unit is dose-comparable with GE ASiR / Siemens SAFIRE generation; an un-licensed unit is not.
Why it matters to engineers: AIDR 3D is software licensing + reconstruction-compute. License-page screenshots at acceptance are standard. Successor-class is Canon AiCE deep-learning reconstruction.
