Current GE 3 T wide-bore MRI flagship for advanced clinical and research imaging. Introduced as the Signa Premier platform and now shipping as Signa Premier and Signa Premier Evo, with AIR Edition variants that bundle the AIR coil family. Architecturally distinct from prior Signa 3T generations (Pioneer, HDxt 3T): new magnet, new gradient, new receive chain.

Platform highlights

  • SuperG gradient coil — all-hollow-wire construction with direct per-axis liquid cooling. ~45 kW steady-state heat removal, force/torque-balanced design to suppress acoustic vibration, temporal stability <0.05% RMS with no linear drift.
  • Intelligent magnet — ~1.4× more cooling-efficient than prior 3 T magnets, ~67% lower helium inventory, ~2.0 tons lighter than the predecessor. Siting burden reduced (floor load, cryogen refill cadence).
  • AIR Recon DL — deep-learning image reconstruction. Standard on current Premier. Reduces scan time up to ~50% at matched image quality, or raises resolution at matched scan time.
  • Sonic DL — accelerated cardiac and abdominal sequences via DL reconstruction.
  • AIR coil platform (AIR Edition) — blanket-like, conforming receive coils that replace rigid body / spine coils for most exams; meaningful workflow and patient-comfort change vs legacy coil architecture.
  • Wide bore 70 cm — bariatric and claustrophobic-friendly at 3 T.
