Siemens Vectron X-ray Tube
Current-generation Siemens CT X-ray tube. Successor to the STRATON family on mid-tier and premium single-source Siemens CT platforms (SOMATOM go.Top, SOMATOM X.cite). Maintains the liquid-metal-bearing rotating-anode architecture that defined STRATON while extending power, heat-capacity, and focal-spot stability envelopes for current clinical workflows. The NAEOTOM Alpha family uses the Vectron class as its dual-source photon-counting CT tubes.
Fits
Diagnosis
- Tube-hour and tube-scan counter — primary wear indicators.
- Focal-spot stability drift — matters particularly on high-resolution clinical protocols.
- Arcing / dose-output drift — acceptance testing catches.
- Liquid-metal-bearing diagnostics (shared pattern with STRATON).
Replacement
Not a field repair. Part of scheduled-capital planning at the scanner level; lead times depend on generation and sourcing. Acceptance testing (dose output, kVp stability, focal-spot integrity) mandatory post-swap.
Field notes
Vectron service-pattern continuity with STRATON — service organizations familiar with STRATON generally transfer skills to Vectron-era tubes with training.
