dS Coils
Philips digital MR receive coils for the dStream broadband architecture. RF digitization is performed at the coil connector; optical / digital link runs from coil to system instead of traditional coax.
Why it matters to buyers: Coil inventory does not port from Achieva / Intera. An Ingenia refurb without an explicit dS-compatible coil set is a gutted scanner at clinical-use level, regardless of chassis price. Coil value on the refurb market is a meaningful share of total system value.
Why it matters to engineers: Optical connectors are the new weak point — dust, bend radius, crush damage. Per-coil channel-health diagnostic is the canonical QA check; silent channel dropouts cost SNR invisibly. Analog-coil diagnostic intuition from Achieva doesn't transfer.
