DICOM Store
DICOM C-STORE transaction — scanner pushes images to PACS over a DICOM association. The basic "send images to archive" operation, the workflow lifeline of every radiology integration. Modern equivalents include STOW-RS (DICOMweb HTTP-based store).
Why it matters to buyers: The basic store operation must work for every scanner / PACS pair. Failed C-STORE = no exam in PACS = no reading workflow.
Why it matters to engineers: Transfer syntax compatibility (Explicit / Implicit VR, JPEG / JPEG2000 / RLE compression) is a common mismatch — sender and receiver must agree on syntax during association negotiation. Test at acceptance, not at go-live.
