Compressed SENSE

Philips' combination of compressed sensing + SENSE parallel imaging — MRI acceleration that can shorten acquisition times by up to ~50% on both 2D and 3D sequences at matched image quality. The defining acceleration technology on the Philips Ingenia Elition and current Ingenia / MR 5300 / MR 7700 generations; materially different from acceleration achieved by SENSE (parallel imaging) alone.

Why it matters to buyers: Compressed SENSE is the headline throughput / image-quality feature on current Philips MRI. Shorter breath-holds in cardiac, faster diffusion, shorter multi-parametric prostate exams. An Ingenia Elition without Compressed SENSE licensing operates at a materially slower throughput profile.

Why it matters to engineers: Compressed SENSE is a reconstruction algorithm licensed on the Philips MRI host. The underlying SENSE parallel imaging is a prerequisite; Compressed SENSE layers on top.
