Siemens Artis pheno
Family: Siemens Artis · Modality: Interventional X-Ray
Robotic C-arm mounted on an industrial robotic base. Unlike a ceiling-suspended C-arm, the pheno moves the gantry from a floor-mounted robotic base — enabling non-standard projection angles and tighter hybrid-OR geometries.
What pheno enables vs conventional cath labs
- Non-standard projections — the robotic arm reaches angles that ceiling-mounted C-arms can't (deep caudal, steep right-anterior-oblique)
- Hybrid OR flexibility — floor-mounted base retracts from the table when not imaging, giving surgeons full access
- Structural heart + aortic work — complex TAVR, TEVAR, valve-in-valve where C-arm flexibility matters
- Pediatric cardiac — smaller patient positioning easier with the robotic reach
Specs
- Robotic 6-axis arm (Siemens-proprietary, based on industrial robot platform)
- Flat-panel detector (30 × 38 cm)
- GIGALIX tube + OPTIQ imaging chain (shared with Artis Q)
- syngo Artis workstation
- syngo DynaCT (rotational angiography with CT-like reconstruction)
Clinical positioning
Premium hybrid-OR + complex IR platform. Deployed in academic + large tertiary-care centers doing high-complexity structural heart, neuro, or aortic work. Not a volume cath lab solution — the robotic geometry is overkill for routine PCI.
