Philips Brilliance 64

Family: Philips Brilliance · Modality: CT

64-slice CT scanner, introduced mid-2000s as Philips' answer to the Siemens SOMATOM Sensation 64 and GE LightSpeed VCT. Large installed base in community hospitals and imaging centers; being displaced by Ingenuity CT and later iCT / Incisive successors but still servicing many radiology practices.

Variant-specific considerations

  • 64-slice detector, 0.625 mm nominal slice thickness
  • Sub-second rotation times
  • Iterative reconstruction (iDose) was a later software upgrade; not all Brilliance 64 systems ran it
  • Gantry and tube platform shared across Brilliance-64 variants; service is well-understood in the refurb market

Parts

MRC 800 tube family (variable across production run), DMS generator, slip-ring assembly, detector modules, table.
