Medtronic O-arm
Modality: Intraoperative CT
Mobile intraoperative cone-beam CT — O-shaped gantry with split design that opens for patient access and closes for imaging. Primary use: spine surgery screw verification + neuro-navigation registration with Medtronic's StealthStation. Also used in select orthopedic and ENT cases. O-arm O2 is the current generation.
Variant-specific considerations
- Mobile OR unit; opens and closes around prone/supine patient
- Cone-beam CT acquisition, volume reconstruction in ~30 s
- Integrated with StealthStation navigation platform (native workflow)
- Competes mobility-wise with Ziehm Vision RFD 3D and Siemens Cios Spin for 3D imaging; fixed-room competitors include Brainlab Airo and Siemens SOMATOM Edge on rails
