SBRT
Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy — SRS applied outside the cranium. Lung, liver, prostate, spine, pancreas, adrenal, oligometastatic disease. Hypofractionated (typically 1–5 fractions) ablative-dose treatment delivered with high precision.
Why it matters to buyers: Hypofractionated (few-fraction) ablative treatment. Competes with surgery on some indications (early-stage NSCLC, oligometastatic disease, prostate). Modern external-beam workhorse alongside IMRT / VMAT.
Why it matters to engineers: Respiratory motion management (gating, breath-hold, real-time tumor tracking) is essential for thoracic / abdominal SBRT. MR-Linac platforms (Unity, MRIdian) excel at SBRT in deformable targets via on-table re-planning.
