ACR accreditation
American College of Radiology accreditation for imaging facilities. Required (or near-required by payer policy) for CMS reimbursement of advanced imaging — CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET, breast MRI, ultrasound, DXA, mammography (paired with MQSA).
Why it matters to buyers: Accreditation = reimbursement eligibility. Lapse = revenue cliff on Medicare advanced-imaging reimbursement.
Why it matters to engineers: Physicist surveys every 3 years per modality. Image quality + dose + personnel credentialing reviews are the three pillars.
