Rationale

Probe port count + active probes drives throughput — you can't swap probes during a code. Transducer technology family gates image quality and probe upgrade paths. Application packages are licensed per modality and drive purchase/upgrade decisions. Storage architecture (hard drive count) matters because ultrasound generates huge image volumes and failed HDDs are one of the top service events.
